12 Aug Why we do what we do…
Whenever the weather is bad, we are always busy with roof leaks and water damage, amongst other things; however, sometimes we get called out to something a little more unusual, as happened this weekend.
A car was driven into one of our client’s reception area, severely damaging the wall and structural integrity of the building. Thankfully the occupants were unhurt, but the car took a bit of a battering! We were already busy but had to respond with some urgency as the Fire Brigade were unable to remove the vehicle until the building was supported and safe – step up #TeamSherwoods. We arranged for a structural engineer to attend, who advised where he wanted the props positioned to ensure the building was properly supported. We had to cut out ceiling over desk to fit props to the steel correctly and made the area safe. We managed to mobilise engineers at short (instantly) notice so we could be certain that we could complete the works in the shortest possible time.
The car can now be safely removed, and our repair work can begin. We must ensure our client can trade safely, for their team and their customers. The wall was made safe and a temporary weatherproof repair in place, the reception area cleaned and made safe, happy client, #committed team! This is why we do what we do, we make the difference and understand the need to go the extra mile when a client can’t trade. We are the security blanket; doing what we do best to keep businesses doing what they do best.
We are immensely proud of our team and when they drop everything, change their personal plans to ensure we achieve results we like to shout about it. Well done to all of the team, not just the guys on this particular job. We are proud to be #BuildingaFutureWithYou
